Expectations
Born in a small Antivan village; Imogen’s childhood was quite unremarkable. Their mother died during birth, and their father was a farmer, who hoped to have a lovely daughter that would marry to a wealthy man like a merchant, in order to secure a good future for himself and Imogen.
Despite of the lack of etiquette training Imogen fought hard to pursue their father’s dream, they were charming, polite quiet and all the things a good spouse was meant to be, even if something didn’t feel good.
are never
When Imogen was twelve, they learned why their mother was a topic that their father refused to talk about. It was not because their father still grieved her, it was not because they had been in bad terms prior to her death.
The truth was simpler; their mother had been a mage and Imogen had inherited her powers.
Antiva’s circle was not as strict as others but her father was clearly annoyed at the effort of finding someone to teach his daughter to hide their talents His plans for Imogen were crumbling and the relationship deteriorated to the point that one night, after coming from the tavern, he blamed Imogen for ruining his hypothetical perfect future.
a good idea
Hurt by his words they stole a bunch of money and left the following day, with the intention of never returning to Antiva (or at the very least to the village). They worked for shelter, food or coin and due to their resilience they managed to get by
Eventually they ended up in a tavern of Val Royeaux, where they does work nowadays
Future?
After so much time of being what their father wanted them to be, Imogen has decided that they want to be an artist, a painter. For now, they are saving enough money in order to be able to pay a more expert training in that area. They are also starting to understand, slowly but with bravery, other things that did not feel good under their parents training, and learning to be themselves.
